According to some studies, we lose our ability to realize that we are thirsty as we age. This is because our senses lose their perceptive capabilities so we can no longer feel that we are thirsty. So as we grow older, we have to take more water to avoid dehydration. Mostly elderly people suffer hypertension, arthritis, kidney stones, constipation and other related disorders. These may be associated with inadequate water intake. Dehydration may also cause degenerative diseases due to toxins budding up in our body. Our body is estimated to be about 60 to 70 percent water. Our blood is mostly water, same with our muscles, lungs and brain so our body needs water to normalize body temperature and to provide nutrients to flow all over our body.
